Deeksha and Neeraj's long romance was celebrated with a lovely beachfront wedding in Sri Lanka.
Deeksha and Neeraj's long romance was celebrated with a lovely beachfront wedding in Sri Lanka.
Groom Neeraj grew up in Sri Lanka, and his deep emotional bond with the country led him and bride Deeksha to wed there, despite the lingering tragedy of the Easter Sunday bombings in April 2019. Their wedding symbolized hope and resilience, and was planned to perfection by WeddingSutra Favorite - Baraati Inc. Here, bride Deeksha shares a few highlights from the wedding celebrations.
Deeksha and Neeraj had been living in Singapore for 10 years when they first met through a friend at a Diwali party in October 2017. Deeksha recalls, “In our first few dates itself, we bonded over our similar values which were built on being simple, caring and wanting to help others. Over time, we discovered that both of had a similar upbringing, valued our loved ones and wanted to create an ecosystem full of positivity, enthusiasm and unconditional love. In the past, Neeraj and I had both gone through struggles and learnt from life's lessons, because of which we knew exactly what our priorities were. Our compatibility, sense of purpose and similarity in being driven despite being different in our own ways, made us fall in love with each other.”
Two weeks into the relationship, Neeraj knew Deeksha was the one, and didn’t want to wait any longer to spend the rest of their lives together. He whisked her away for a short holiday to Bali, Indonesia, and there, overlooking a gorgeous sunset above the ocean at Rock Bar, he popped the question. His proposal was met with a resounding “Yes!".
“We chose Cinnamon Bey Beruwala in Sri Lanka as our wedding venue. We had travelled to Sri Lanka three months prior to the wedding and had visited this property. It has open green lawns, a breathtaking beachfront and a variety of indoor and outdoor venues to choose from. We instantly got positive vibes from it. The hospitality at Cinnamon Bey was fantastic and goes to show the innate kind and gentle nature of Sri Lankans. Also, we had a deep emotional attachment with Sri Lanka as Neeraj was born there and also had his childhood home there.”
“A wedding should capture the essence of your personal bond and relationship, and Baraati Inc helped us bring our vision to life. Around five months of hard work went into creating five memorable events over three days in Sri Lanka. Not only did they handle the logistics seamlessly, they also added personal touches and arranged for some delightful surprises that made the whole experience even more magical.
“ The bride’s distinctive looks for each function were created by WeddingSutra Favorite - Pooja Khurana.
The haldi ceremony was an intimate affair which was attended by close family and friends. It was held at a rooftop venue of the hotel which resounded with the bride's favorite Bollywood hits. With the bride, groom and most of the wedding squad clad in yellow, the decor was kept minimal and had hints of blue and green. A bridal seating spot created with cascading seashells was perfectly in sync with the location. Deeksha wore a gorgeous sari gifted by her mother, and Neeraj picked a matching yellow sherwani, for this fun event.
The mehendi ritual was the first function in the line up of festivities, and it was a colorful soiree of ocean blue and pink. Inspired by Sri Lankan local markets, the paper streamers and origami boats made for a unique and quirky decor element, the entertainment segment had a fun game of antakshari hosted by the Best Man and Maid of Honor. All food and drinks were laid out on self serve tables, and included delicious items like king coconuts, sangria and lion beer. The bride donned a colorful ensemble and floral jewellery, while the groom wore a bandi vest from Manyavar which had an intricate floral design.
The sangeet night had a 'Deewani Mastani theme, and the venue was done up in opulent shades like maroon, ivory and gold. Tall Shamadan candles and deep-red rose accents added a mystical aura to the evening, and the showstopper was a regal painting behind the bridal stage made by the bride’s father, which made it all the more special. Deeksha wore an elegant silver-grey lehenga with crystal and pearl work, which she paired with diamond jewelry, while the Neeraj looked regal in a gold and black sherwani with a matching stole.
Set in the lawn by the breathtaking beachfront, the wedding was resplendent with blush and peach accents, and so were the bride and groom. The baarat made their entry at the pool side, grooving to DJ Abhishek’s live music. Sri Lankan Kandyan dancers synchronizing their steps to drum beats playing Bollywood music and performing acrobatics which made for a dramatic spectacle as the couple made their entry. Neeraj and Deeksha both got teary-eyed as they made their way to the mandap, before they exchanged their garlands made of blush-hued roses and seashells.
The reception was a night high on emotions with toasts and speeches, following which everyone walked on to the monogrammed dance floor to dance the night away. The decor of tropical plants against an ivory background was minimalistic and classic, and the couple wore a rich combination of black and red. The groom’s donned a creation from Manyavar, while the bride opted for a gorgeous embroidered sari gifted to her by her mom.
Deeksha shares, "If you are planning a destination wedding, hiring a wedding planner is the best thing you can do, as it takes a lot of the pressure away and allows you to enjoy the experience to the fullest. Remember, first find your planner, then venue, and then everything else. Also, take a few days before the wedding to zone yourself in for your once-in-a-lifetime experience."
For childhood sweethearts Mahima and Harsh, a chance meeting years later rekindled the flame that would last a lifetime.
For childhood sweethearts Mahima and Harsh, a chance meeting years later rekindled the flame that would last a lifetime.
The gorgeous wedding of this photographer jodi was held in a sprawling estate a little outside Delhi. Planned & Designed by WeddingSutra Favorite – Baraati Inc, the celebrations were captured by another WeddingSutra Favorite – Nikhil Shastri. Here are a few glimpses from the festivities.
They met in high school, dated for a bit and then Mahima and Harsh went their separate ways. Fate however had a trick up her sleeve. When they bumped into each other five years later, they decided to get a drink. Grown-ups now, they went on to have a seven-year courtship and start a business together! Finally, they decided to cement a more personal partnership too.
Harsh decided to ditch the OTT proposal and do something truer to form. He says, “Some of our close friends are a huge part of our lives. We spend a lot of time with them and I thought, what better than to propose in their midst. So I invited everyone to a sundowner. Mahima has a nose for sniffing out surprises so to throw her off I told her we were heading to a proposal of another friend.”
“He has never been one for grand gestures of love,” Mahima says, “but he sang me a song and told me all the reasons he loves me. He managed to sweep me off my feet with the most romantic proposal ever!”
“We wanted all the feels of a destination wedding with none of the added logistics so a standalone property a little way out of Delhi was the ideal venue. We found everything we dreamed of at Golden Tulips in Panchkula; amazing catering, bartending and DJ services as well! It really pared down the excessive planning.”
“As part of the wedding industry, I know how stressful planning and executing a wedding can be. We worked with Baraati Inc who made the entire process relaxed and enjoyable for us.”
For her trousseau, Mahima hit the trendiest shopping spots in Delhi like HKV, GK and Chandni Chowk, with an entourage of her friends and her mom.
As part of the photographer fraternity, a large part of the guest list comprised photographers. Result? A plethora of gorgeous shots! Their official photographer however, was Nikhil Shastri, who captured the wedding in gorgeous frames.
The haldi held by the pool was like a postcard with pops of yellow, orange and fuchsia in a picturesque contrast with the clear blue skies and lush greenery. A suffusion of marigolds and seating arrangements decked up in Rajasthani mirror-work added an ethnic pique to the visuals.
The bride herself, in a yellow sari with fuchsia floral jewelry was a vision of summer! The guests showered rose petals and confetti on the couple as they were doused in turmeric paste, and then splashed into the pool.
Vibrant colors continued to dominate as the cocktail evening rolled in, rendered in elements like kites, candles and pompoms. The favor tables were strewn with jhoomar earrings and bangles which sparkled in the play of lights. The groom and his friends performed a few dances before the DJ took over and everyone hit the dance floor.
After the fun and frivolity of the days prior, the wedding day dawned with a sense of sacred serenity. The Anand Karaj was a tranquil ceremony, its significance accentuated by sophisticated décor in blush with delicate floral accents.
The groom’s safa and dupatta matched the bride’s elegant blush lehenga with pearl embellishments as did the nuptial garlands and the bride’s kaleerein. The ceremony was followed by traditional post-wedding games like finding the ring in a pot of milk.
The reception was an elegant evening affair at The Ocean Pearl Gardenia set up across a ballroom and an outdoor space. String lights, wooden photo walls and quirky signs added to the rustic charm of the garden décor, while the indoors banquet was kept classy and minimal, and featured a slide show montage of their wedding pictures. The bride wore an embroidered lehenga in midnight blue, while the groom wore an elegant sherwani in matching hues.
So we know you have been dreaming of your dream wedding for a while and have your phone gallery full of screenshots from our Instagram page. But if we tell you we have found that perfect wedding where the couple brought to life every idea that you and I would love?
"We had a long courtship period of about 11 months. From a planning perspective, that meant we had a lot of time to do our research, make timely vendor bookings and just enjoy the whole process. Our pre-wedding shoot at Udaivilas in Udaipur, captured by The Wedding Story will always be so special to us. Fortunately for us, both Medha and I had very similar visions of how we wanted our wedding to pan out. Being a fashion designer, she has a strong aesthetic sense - so she completely took care of that bit. I, alongside my planners Baraati Inc. worked towards adding a lot of personality and individuality in each event. I wanted everyone to have the craziest time! Baraati Inc are such a creative, fun, and hands-on team to work with. They foresaw all our potential hassles and planned ahead. Our families honestly didn’t have to worry about a thing and enjoyed every moment of the wedding.
Our wedding was shot by Stories by Joseph Radhik. I had to really convince my parents to drop our family photographers, and try someone new. But honestly, after seeing their work - they understood why I was so persistent. As soon as things got finalized, the first I did was book them," shares Ritesh.
Medha adds, “I can’t thank Mrinalini Chandra enough for my customised kaliras! The wedding theme from my side was Kashmiri with shikaras and florals. So my kaliras were customised in the shape of hanging mini shikaras. Namrata Soni is the industry’s favorite for a reason - she’s not only the best at what she does, but also such a great person. My makeup for both functions was beyond flawless.”
"We also got The Wedding Story on board to shoot our wedding. The more I say, the less it is. We had already seen so much of their work, and blindly went ahead. Needless to say, they perfectly captured every emotion so authentically,” adds Ritesh.
When two wedding planners get married, you’re sure to witness a helluva wedding! Alaap and Shweta’s wedding festivities included a Holi Haldi party, a parrots and ribbons Mehendi and a Picnic Wedding!
Alaap and I are childhood friends. We were best of friends for many years and funnily enough, I was also his wing woman at one point! But slowly, the realization that we were, in fact, perfect for each other dawned on us. And before leaving for college, he asked me if I felt the same way. So our relationship started as a long-distance one. But we were both all in, and have never looked back since!
I am a wedding planner, so the last thing I wanted to do was… plan my own wedding. Luckily for me, my best friends are also my business partners, so it all worked out perfectly. I did however, design the décor, since that’s something I had a very clear vision about. Alaap is someone who has these crazy, creative epiphanies, so he came up with the last minute idea of having a comic-style wedding guide. It was a huge hit, and people took so many copies home as souvenirs!
I was beyond excited – and you can tell from the pictures! I don’t think I ever stopped grinning.
I had the best time shopping with my mom and best friend cum planner, Shikha! As planners, we were well-versed with all the stores and designers, so it was only a matter of picking what works for me!
I chose an outfit from Kalista.
I wore an ensemble from Asiana Couture.
We celebrated our Haldi together with a Haldi Holi Party! I think it was such a fun, effortless way for all of our friends and family from different cultures to become one. It’s a great ice-breaker and culture binder! I opted for a handmade sari from Orissa for this function.
I love the idea of a chilled poolside Mehendi. Parrot motifs and ribbons helped me create that mood, with the focal point being my backdrop. Our Mehendi favour was a 90’s nostalgia-inspired candy cone, and all our guests loved it to bits! I wore an outfit from Vastya Couture.
For the wedding, our sole focus was our ivory and crimson mandap (in terms of décor). Other than that, we just wanted everyone to have the best time – think picnic with a view! So we had everyone seated in the lawn, having an alfresco feast with a range of gourmet sandwiches. My wedding outfit was picked from Frontier Raas.
Our reception was an extension of our wedding décor, with a generous addition of gold accents. My favourite part was our Jai-Veeru style entry – it was just the perfect representation of our relationship! The outfit was chosen from Om Parkash Jawahar Lal.
We had about 80-100 guests, and my main requirement was to house all of them together. I wanted the venue to have sprawling lawns and resort vibes so everyone feels relaxed, and we can organise lots of open-air ceremonies. Hotel Rajhans Surajkund Resort checked most of the requirements on my list, and the staff was very hospitable and accommodating as well!
My sangeet was basically a dance show! Out of the million performances, some of my favourites were:
Couple Dance: Lucky – Jason Mraz
Groom’s solo performance: Satisfya – Imran Khan
Groomsmen: Ishq Tera Tadpave – Sukhbir
Bride & the the groomsmen: Main Aayi Hun U.P. Bihar Lootne – Shool
Couple friends: Yeh Ladka Hai Deewana – Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
Stay true to yourself. It’s easy to get carried away by trends and formulas. Hire a planner to help you do all the thinking, conceptualization, design and planning! Appreciate your squad – they’re doing their best to make you feel relaxed and special.
With an elegant hanging garden like reception setup, a traditional home wedding and a raging pre-wedding party in Goa, this couple’s nuptials were all about exploring diverse moods.
"Rahul and I were a part of Hyderabad Angels and met at an investment forum many years back. We were friends for a very long time before we started dating and marriage is something that came to us organically. I guess when you know, you know."
"Our wedding had two legs to it. We had a long raging party in Goa for the youngsters before the formal celebrations in Hyderabad began.
For our rager, we had a one-point agenda: to have a wild, crazy time. Panning everything that would make are nuptials so, was left to our planners Baraati Inc. They picked Riva Beach Resort as the location and it worked out fantastically! The property also offered in-house services like kayaking, cycling which really added to the whole Goa experience.
For all my wedding rituals, my father and I decided on our own home as the venue – just like they do it in the villages in Andhra. I don’t think any other venue could have matched up to the pure happiness I felt there."
"From the moment I saw their work at my friend’s wedding, I knew I wanted Baraati Inc. to be my planners. We felt an instant connection with them which hare even to this date. If Baraati Inc. wasn’t around, nothing would have been so seamless, creative and gorgeous!"
"The celebration in Goa was an out-and-out party which lasted for two days and our planners came up with four different themes for the same. The Stakeout was a Barbeque and pool party, the Burlesque Night was a night of poker, drinks, and dance, next morning we had a Spa and Games Brunch and the closing event was The White Rabbit Party (DJ Night) at Thalassa."
"The functions in Hyderabad we kept had a vibe that was traditional yet quirky. For the Mehndi, we made use of drapes in light blue and lime green and fairy lights were lit to enhance the look. I especially loved the funky matchbox art-inspired bridal seating at the function. Other interesting elements were the beer bottle chandeliers.
Since the atmosphere at this event was light-hearted and fun, I went with a cold shoulder blouse and lehenga from Black Sheep by Rohini & Sabini."
"Florals were the ruling elements for the decor at this ceremony. The guest list here was relatively small but the spirit of celebration was quite strong nonetheless! A red saree which was bought from Kanchi was my outfit of choice."
"We had a quintessentially Telugu wedding. White and red were the colors that could be seen across all decor elements. I chose to wear a traditional white saree from Raw Mango which was paired with a red blouse and heavy kundan jewellery."
"When it came to the reception, we decided to glam it up with a hanging garden setup. While pink and grey drapes were used to decorate a section of the ceiling and we made use of falling wisteria as overhead decorations in the other areas of the venue. Fresh blooms were seen in abundance even in the rest of the decor. The backdrop to our stage was a large panel of flowers and white was the color that dominated the setup. This one was all about elegance and sophistication."
Wedding planning is not an easy task – it takes a village! So be realistic about the time you are ready to invest. I knew I’d need the help of planners to execute my vision to perfection. It also helps that they can act as a voice of reason between both families.
Another thing I would suggest is to start early – make sure you and your planners are in sync. I first met Baraati Inc. 10 months before my wedding. This gave us enough time to plan every little detail and work at a relaxed pace."
Are you someone who has marveled the grandeur of Bollywood nights and award shows? Someone who’s always desired to dance with the stars on the beat of your favorite item number?...
Are you someone who has marveled the grandeur of Bollywood nights and award shows? Someone who’s always desired to dance with the stars on the beat of your favorite item number? Be it a song from the 70s or a chart-buster from your current playlist, Bollywood music is the soul of our life and having a sangeet night on your wedding that speaks your love for Bollywood by itself is like a dream come true. And like it’s said, when you truly desire something, the whole universe conspires to make it happen for you and Baraati Inc. brought this dream of Ritesh & Medha to life by organizing a grand sangeet with IIFA night set up which was a larger than life event.
The entire venue, designed by Q Events, planned and conceptualized by Baraati Inc, looked like a magnificent setting which indeed had created a trend-mark of its own! The fascinating set up was based on the IIFA night theme which added the element of fun and fervor to the night at a different level altogether.
The zesty amalgamation of the cocktail mixes portrayed in a groovy fashion would make anyone drooling over. We are so in love with this cool and sassy theme of the bar, team Baraati Inc came up with the most unique and boisterous shot names that there is nothing more you could’ve asked for!
It wasn’t just the cocktails and decor what made the night a huge success, the celebration found its meaning when the actual performances began. From crazy bridal and groom entries to hit dance numbers- especially those on Shammi Kapoor songs gave this sangeet night a real fun and jubilant kick-start.
Apart from friends and family, Medha and Ritesh’s sangeet’s ceremony also witnessed some priceless solo performances by guest artists.
The whole IIFA themed sangeet night was a mixture of fun and kooky, and why wouldn’t it be, that’s the innovative style of Baraati Inc, when they plan a function, the entertainment factor is ought to cross every level. And with the theme all Bolly style it felt like a grand party from the B-town itself. We still keep up with all the fun they might have had. Although we weren’t a part of this amazing evening, we are still relishing all the fun through these stunning captures.
Isn’t this Sangeet is like living a vivid dream in true colors? Do let us know how much you liked it in the comments below!

We’ve always believed that a match is made in heaven and our one true love is someone chosen by the almighty! What we do not see is that maybe our special someone is already in our life; maybe he/she has always been there for us when we needed their support, maybe THE one is the one who laughs with us on our silly jokes, shares our food, even helps us solve life’s tiny troubles. Just maybe it’s THAT best friend whom you hold dearest to life.
It is said that best friends make the perfect couple and today, in our true story, we’ll share the perfect love story of a couple who have been there for a each other for more than 15 years- growing from being bestest friends, creating a company made with love, to finally getting married! Isn’t that so romantic?
From school mates, to best friends, till becoming directors of Baraati Inc.
– Shweta and Alaap’s journey began when they were only 11 years old and it didn’t take long for their friendship to grow into an irreplaceable bond. Theirs was a friendship so endearing that a lot of people looked up to the honest, reliable and responsible bond they shared which has now flourished to becoming each other’s constant companions and confidants.
Let’s hear this story in the words of our bride Shweta Acharya herself!
“Love was a feeling that was always there, but I think we finally nurtured and garnered that feeling when Alaap came back for his summer break and it was time to leave again soon. In that moment, we realized that it was the perfect time to dive into the relation, to head on and make sure we will never have to leave each other’s side ever again.
The belief in our bond of friendship over everything else made us believe that we can do this forever. Alaap wrote a proposal to my family first, thanking them for being by our side and took their permission to marry me! And once he swept each and every one of them off their feet, he got them involved in the mega proposal. A proposal which only he could pull off, in the most special way anyone could have ever proposed, and I just stood there, drunk in love with my best friend, ready to marry him!
Overall, the whole journey from being a friend to best friends to boy/girlfriend to fiance to being the husband/wife – It has been the best roller coaster ride of our lives! We not only did share interests but made sure to design a life together and worked hard for it. Our goal has always been to do different things, explore and be on an adventure everyday. From business, to friends, to family and more we decided our forever, cause we believe that sometimes in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a chance to ensure happiness, a fairytale and we embraced ours!”
A love story as special as theirs was ought to have a ceremony oozing with fun. This grooviest couple had an amazing multi-cultured Oriya- Bihari Arya Samaj wedding planned by their company Baraati Inc itself, which was indeed more like a heady cultural cocktail, with no flavor left behind!
Now let’s take a peek at the happy and vibrant pictures of their full of life wedding.

Three best friends from Delhi opened a wedding planning business, Baraati Inc, more than a year ago, purely out of their love for all things shadi. When I met Shweta Acharya, the brainchild behind Baraati Inc, she recollected how it all started as a timepass.
I started by conceptualising and choreographing weddings & sangeets for friends and family. That garnered great vibes and appreciation. One such project required more support and my best friends agreed on making it a journey of a lifetime!
The girls are now budding entrepreneurs, making a name for themselves in a market that is difficult to penetrate. Isn’t that amazing? How often do we get to do something we love, professionally?!
Shweta gave me a bunch of tips to get started and ensure there is no bridezilla in the house. She said:
First and foremost, define your budget. This is the thumb rule of wedding planning. Next, make a guest list, which will be a requirement for all the vendors, from decorator to caterer and all others. It is also important to keep in mind that the ‘cheapest quote’ is not always the ‘best deal’, no matter how tempting the bargain is. Don’t forget to do a follow up with all the vendors. Most important, stick to your vision! The making of your day will involve too many opinions. Hear them all and stick to what you want to do. And lastly, enjoy yourself and live every moment of your wedding. You are on your way to creating memories of a lifetime!
What makes the trio click is their love for weddings; and making them a dreamlike sequence minus your papas, chachas or bhaiyas running behind caterers on the D-day. Weddings are a huge affair in our country, after all!
Having said that, shadi business is definitely a busy job. ‘I am not getting time to plan my own wedding, which is in February’, Shweta laughed telling me that is the only downside of her work.
These three women who turned their dreams into a reality are an inspiration for talented women who are just waiting to take that first step.

Nanki and Ishaan's wedding at Shiv Vilas, Jaipur might as well be a synonym for flamboyance! We love how this Sikh-Hindu couple managed to plan an uber-cool, fun and yet traditional wedding all by themselves! But of course, none of it would be possible without all the help from the fabulous fam-jam. :) The location had a beautifully quaint aura about it. What to look out for: Each and every outfit that Nanki wore and the fab décor!
Nanki and Ishaan’s mehndi was all things colourful and all things fun. The pristine stone structure, Shiv Vilas looked just about flawless with its intricate carvings. The couple went for vibrant and bright décor that stood out wonderfully against the white backdrop. Orange and pista diwans, hot pink pillows, marigold floral décor… all by the poolside. It looked rather lovely. They even had a bicycle-rickshaw that was all done up in pretty florals. Nanki wore a pink pleated dhoti dress by Sonia Khurana with statement earrings and a matha-patti. We just loved the look. Ishaan colour co-ordinated in a pink kurta and cream dhoti-pants by Pranay Baidya. He even added Tom Ford aviators, to top it all. Much wow, Ishaan ;) Also, check out that fancy-ass signboard! :D
The shoot happened after the mehndi function. Nanki dressed herself in a pretty mint green and gold gown while Ishaan stuck to his pink ensemble. The couple seemed to be made for each other.
For the haldi ceremony, Nanki decided to wear something from the closet of mother dearest! Allll ready to be spoilt, haha :D She accessorized with a necklace, earrings and orchids – the first flower Ishaan ever gave her. Awww =) Ishaan’s haldi outfit was designed by Pranay Baidya = dhoti pants, a cream kurta and a yellow Nehru jacket; topped off with a gold pocket square and juttis. Love all the emotion we see in the pictures captures brilliantly by Romesh Dhamija Productions!
The Sangeet saw Nanki in a beautiful red lehenga with detailed gold embroidery by Sonia Khurana. Ishaan wore a black gold-embroidered Sherwani by Pranay Baidya. He accessorized with a red bandhini turban and a red dupatta that matched the heavy gold work on his sherwani. The Varmala ceremony took place on this night itself.
The colour palette for the wedding was a pastel shade of pink. The venue was decorated in pink and white drapes with floral arrangements. Nanki wore a light pink and mauve salwar suit - a replica of her mother's wedding suit in lighter colors - designed by Sharon Walia and made in Jalandhar, Punjab. Ishaan dressed himself in a white sherwani with gold details, also by Pranay Baidya. He complimented his bride by accessorizing with a light pink turban and matching juttis. Pink Overload? Hell, yes! But it never looked better. All the elements came together so perfectly to create one pretty pink picture. =)
The couple had a second Hindu wedding ceremony post the Sikh wedding. Nanki looked just about gorgeous in an ombre-orange and blue lehenga with stunning hand embroidery by Sonia Khurana. The groom looked quite dapper himself in a regal peach and orange ensemble with a matching safa, completing his look with a navy embroidered belt. And yes, Pranay Baidya did his magic once again and designed this outfit too! The mandap décor was beautifully done. Orange tones were added to the pink drapes along with bright flowers.
Nanki graced the occasion in a purple velvet gown by Ridhi Arora and her better half chose to wear a classic white tuxedo with black lapels and a statement butterfly tie. These two were just adorable throughout the night! Loved the shots of them dancing and just being soo in love. :’)

Weddings are a busy affair. Won’t be able to personally salute all your guests upon their arrival, so a wedding welcome bag (or basket) is an amazing way to say, “Hello, we’re glad you’re here!” right away. (Especially if you’re having a destination wedding or lot of your guests are out-of-towners.) That’s why many couples put together welcome bags for their guests. Want to do the same? Here’s everything you need to assemble the perfect welcome goody bag that’s sure to make your guests feel right at home.
Canvas totes, decorative boxes and even mini wine crates make great containers for your welcome kits. Something cute to stash your guests’ swag. Though the safest bet are custom printed totes, since they’re versatile, reusable, and easy to carry. However, boxes have become increasingly popular because they remain tidy and are easy to stack when transporting them to the hotel, and from the front desk to the guest suite. Pick something that goes best with the feel of your wedding.
While the snacks are the most exciting part of the welcome tote bag, do not overlook the paperwork. So, provide a weekend itinerary to help the guests have what they need to know at their fingertips. An itinerary must detail all locations, addresses, timelines and dress codes for the events of your wedding (ladies’ luncheon, after-party details, for example). If you are providing transportation, this is a great place to include shuttle pick-up and drop-off information as well. Also, consider including local maps, a card detailing your favourite things to do in the area, and, of course, a welcome note to your guests (even better when handwritten and personalized!)
Don’t forget the booze! Or other type of beverage that you think the guest would like. It doesn’t have to be alcohol. But why not get the party started earlier rather than later? Just saying.
People generally get cranky after a long journey, especially children! So, surprise your guests with a loads and loads of snacks, include something to satisfy your guests’ sweet-tooth and for late nights after the after-party, something salty is always much appreciated. Put in both sweet and salty snacks to make your guests day!
This goes without saying. Good wedding = mild hangover; great wedding = the mother of all hangovers. So, give your guests a little love and make sure they’re stocked with hangover kit. Hangover isn’t the only “emergency” your guests might encounter. This kit can be their Knight in Shining Armour, add in some Band-Aids, stain remover or a mini-sewing-kit to help guests deal with whatever disaster might come their way. Perhaps even a custom do-not-disturb door hanger is in order?
Your welcome bag is another opportunity to thank your guests. Include a thoughtful letter to tell them how happy you are to be sharing your wedding day with them. Handwriting each note will give them that extra-special touch or if you’re short on time, take the time to sign each one in ink. A postcard is a fun option for a destination wedding, while aged parchment paper is perfect otherwise.
To ensure guests receive the totes just the way you’ve intended, don’t forget to arrange your welcome tote delivery process with the hotel ahead of time. Contact the hotel concierge to ask how they are delivered. Surprise your guests by having the welcome bags waiting for them in their rooms. It’ll be the first thing they see when they walk through the door and is sure to instantly make them feel right at home. Now, you can that you have got everything you need to start making those wedding welcome bags, go ahead and make your guests feel a little more at home!

As Greek would believe; “originally human were created with two sets of arms and legs but were spilt condemning one to search for their other half.” So, when one finds the other they get married :P And if weddings are supposed to be just about the bride and the groom, then there has to some way to make next the first step of your journey towards forever have your signature all over it. As these days, it’s all about getting good pictures at the wedding. And more importantly, creating an atmosphere that clearly encourages good pictures and interesting ideas. Enter: Props(Quirky props). They’re fun, dramatic and sometimes, over-the-top but they really make any wedding super-duper fun. But the real part the way the props are used to create drama. So, there is a list of Props you can use in your wedding:
So this one’s probably the easiest idea to execute and the most popular. Buy empty frames — paint them in the colour pallet that is same as of your wedding and just get your pals to have fun. Go from simple square ones to metallic ones for effect and ornately-shaped ones to add a classic look.
Shhhh…Tip: Decorated them as you would like; with flowers, ribbons, glitters or you can take it to the next level by using Instagram frames and #hastaging them ;)
Get the witty friends of yours to write you some unique sentences that will get the crowd going. Make them personal — sort out your crowd and know what would make them laugh! Use good fonts and understated blackboard-ish backgrounds and you will emerge the winner.
So, according to your theme and your style you can either print out cute props or DIY them or even buy them online. We are referring about a pair of lips, a quirky hat, lots of moustaches of all kinds, sunglasses, feather boas and other sparkly nutty things. Go out get “quirky” and crazy with the props.
1. Use furniture as cool wedding décor. 2. Use it as a great backdrop for a photo booth. #winwin. It’s more like hitting two birds with one stone. Use rustic furniture to give your pictures an edge. Add flowers or words that showcase your love for effect!
toiles de fond qui racontent une histoire de l’amour : Well, we personally love backdrops that tell a story — maybe something that has your love story written down pat. So adorbs or background can be what the bride and the groom love or one that current décor trends are recommending.
Painting Indian vehicles such as rickshaw, auto, bicycle, hathgadi and scooters in bright colour to ante them up. Go for an old one, paint them fuchsia, orange, yellow, park them at the venue and decorate it the way you want and bam! You’re good to go girl ;)

For the fun grooms who would love to ride in to their wedding in a quirky, fun way — the classic Vespa in a fun colour or with graffiti donning a pagdi instead of a helmet makes for an enjoyable entry with the opportunity to get some fun photographs!
Shhhh…Tip: Decorated them as you would like; with flowers, ribbons, glitters or you can take it to the next level by using Instagram frames and #hastaging them ;)
One of the studliest ways to have a Baraat procession — get your gang to ride together on Bullets, Harleys or Super bikes and proceed in a formation. Add Dholwalas on a few bikes- a guy’s ultimate ride of coolness \m/
Get your Baraatis on Water Bikes (if the venue allows), on a decorated tractor, in open Thars, refurbished funky Fiats, Segways or hoverboards…the list is endless and adventurous
So you’ve seen the bikes and you’ve seen a Baraat with ‘a’ Supercar- Now imagine a FLEET of supercars IS the Baraat. Have them lead your Baraatis or make the fleet an organized procession itself— you’ve got yourself an IMPACTFUL entrance.
For the Royal, grander than life feeling. It isn’t every day you can sit on an Elephant, feeling like a king, like royalty as your family and friends dance around the majestic, dressed elephant.
Go for the AC version of a Baggi! It looks way better than the usual carriage and the groom gets to sit comfortably without sweating it or getting irritated while the Baraatis go crazy dancing for (what seems like probably) endless hours!
Of course the Baraat’s all about dancing- but imagine your entire jig bang doing the same jig! Crazy Baraati dance can be done in a coordinated, choreographed manner- super impactful and extremely fun when done together- ask your choreographer for this one!
This one’s for those who want to thoroughly enjoy the Baraat — Music, Dance, a Truck AND behti hui booze- all in one. For that added bass to your Baraat, we highly recommend getting a DJ Truck & Bar! Ask us How!
This can be added to any Baraat and can be used as an expression of Groom’s personality- things he says, fun caricatures, or just great artwork. It adds color and is a great wedding personalization tool.
This one’s for those tired of dhols. To add a traditional and spiritual character to your Baraat, get Pandits to recite Shlokas, to play the different kind of drums and shankhs and paint a pretty traditional picture for an entrance. Love is not just a feeling but a concoction of many a great selfless and loving action, for the utmost priority is given to one’s beloved’s happiness. And, this is what we got to see in Ramya and Rahul’s traditional Telugu wedding. Yes, it’s the same couple who had this amazing prewedding bash in Goa. As fun and interesting was their pre-wedding escapade to Goa, their wedding was a beautiful affair which we are all crushing over for all the right reasons.
What makes this wedding all the more special is what the groom did specially for his lady-love. Our Bengali-groom, Rahul, went for a traditional Telugu wedding taking inter-cultural weddings goals to the new heights. I guess, there cannot be a much cuter way of paying respects to your spouse’s culture and their traditional rituals than what we saw in Ramya and Rahul’s wedding. From wearing ‘pankollu’ (wooden sandals) to sporting rice and jaggery on his head, Rahul happily tied the knot with his fiancée, Ramya in Hyderabad. And not only was this wedding a great celebration of a sacred communion of two souls, it was a festivity of love laughter and irreplaceably beautiful memories.
Meticulously planned and executed by the much-talented team of Baraati Inc. and eternised with the lens of Going Bananas Photography, the wedding was a lovely affair replete with pleasant surprises. So, hang on, because this wedding is something that will definitely make you want to say, “Aila!”
